The high production value enables the codes and conventions of a sci-fi to remain consistent (lasers, futuristic outfits, bright light) in the environments and costumes of the Mise en scene. Furthermore, The cliche’s in the mise en scene allow the target audiences to quickly recognise with sci-fi films because they are familiar to the various references of brought through the advanced cgi, costumes, special FX and props in the Mise En Scene that would be used in a typical sci-fi. Star wars: the force awakening has used familiar cliche’s within their narrative to provide escapist entertainment of which target audience can recognize. Star wars: the force awakened has used high budget of $300 million to create the different Alien species, props, costumes and environment transferring the audience into a realistic work of the protagonists. Because of this, the force awakens was able to achieve a box office of 2 billion dollars to be one of the most successful science fiction films till date. Science fictions films hybridise with other genres. This means that Science fiction films can reach a larger demographic of audiences which would enable more box office revenue to be generated from a science fiction films. Sci-Fi’s often hybridise with the family, crime or comedy genres as these genres attract the largest amount of different demographics. For example, Mars Attacks! Hybridised with the family and comedy genre. This enabled the target demographic to expand further form the stereotypical sci-fi intelligent and intellectual enthusiasts. It enabled ‘Mars Attacks! ’ to generate a revenue of 100 million dollars as parents could now experience a sci-fi with comedic value with their children. Similarly Sci-Fi’s hybridising enable a change in the iconography which would allow the visuals of a sci-fi to furthermore attract a larger audience. An example of this is in Chappie where the relationship between Chappie and the female protagonist is a representation of a mother figure targeting a female demographic. Science fictions film have an existing loyal fan base. A science fiction’s film fan base consumes Sci-Fi’s on mobile phones, laptops, consoles, PC and webpage these allow Sci-Fi’s to be commercially successful as a sci-fi film would now have a variety of methods to inform their target audience whether it be by making games (e. g. Star wars battlefront), posters or webpages that may promote a Sci-Fi’s narrative. ‘Monster’s vs aliens’ have used viral marketing, a website and teaser trailers in order to reach their fan base. Through this they were able to inform their target audience (children age 7-14) by creating interactive webpages that information of the protagonists and sharing links to their website and teaser trailers on social media platforms. Sci-fi films who have used this are successful as the intuitions were able to reach their target demographics by the how much the target audience uses each platform. Science fiction films are commercially successful because they hybridise with other genres, have high production values and have an existing fan base that consume sci-fi on various media. Toni Morrison In the mid twentieth century, the Civil Rights Movement influenced African-American writers to express their opinions. Most African-American writers of the time discussed racism in America and social injustice. Some authors sought to teach how the institution of slavery affected those who lived through it and African-Americans who were living at the time. One of these writers was the Toni Morrison, the novelist, who intended to teach people about all aspects of African-American life present and past. In Beloved like all of her novels, Toni Morrison used vivid language, imagery, and realism to reveal the interior life of slavery and its vestiges which remained in African- American life. Toni Morrison was born Chloe Anthony Wofford on February 18,1931 in Lorain, Ohio to George and Ramah Willis Wofford. She was the second of four children. Her parents influenced her writing because of their contrasting views. Her father had a very pessimistic view of hope for his people; however, her mother had a more positive belief that a person, with effort, could rise above African-Americans’ current surroundings (Carmean 1-2). Her parents also influenced her because they were â€Å"gifted storytellers who taught their children the value of family history and the vitality of language†(Carmean 2). Toni Morrison graduated with honors from Lorain High School. She went to Howard University where she majored in English Literature. While at Howard, she changed her name from Chloe to Toni. Toni Morrison went to graduate school at Cornell University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Howard and a Master’s degree from Cornell. Toni Morrison met Harold Morrison, her husband, at Howard University where he was an architect student. Toni Morrison and Harold Morrison later divorced. Though they had two sons. Their first son was Harold Ford. Slade Morrison, their second son, helps Toni Morrison in her writing of children’s books. Toni Morrison has held many jobs as a writer, teacher, and an editor. As a teacher, she taught general composition and literature classes at Howard University. Some of her students at Howard were Houston Baker and Claude Brown. There are four types of poems: narrative, lyric, didactic, and dramatic. A narrative poem contains a sequence of events in chronological order that tells the reader a story. A dramatic poem is normally used for onstage performances with dramatic monologue. A lyric poem is songlike, but the subject matter is not song appropriate. A lyric poem has rime, which is where words look alike, and rhyme, which is where the words sound alike only.A didactic poem teaches the reader morals or a lesson. A reader can, however, develop many meanings behind the poem due to a certain way he is feeling or a life experience. In poetry, there is no right or wrong meaning. Poetry speaks to each of its readers differently. In Robert Frost’s poem â€Å"Fire and Ice,† it is both a lyric and didactic poem. There are several meanings that can be arg ued in â€Å"Fire and Ice. † Is Frost’s â€Å"Fire and Ice† about the world ending or a past love that has ended? In the first two lines, Frost writes, â€Å"Some say the world will end in fire, / Some say in ice. The first thought that comes to mind when reading these two lines is that the poem is about the debate on how the world will one day end. Christians believe that the world is going to end in fire as the Bible says. Second Peter chapter three, verse twelve declares, â€Å"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. † People not of the Christian faith believe that the world is going to end, just not in fire.The Earth once experienced an ice age, and scientists have deemed it true that this is how the Earth will end once again. A reader may not interpret the first two li nes to be related to a past relationship in any way. Consequently, the context will probably have a literal meaning until reading further into the poem. The third and fourth lines however may cause the reader to begin questioning the meaning behind the poem. Frost writes in these lines, â€Å"From what I’ve tasted of desire/ I hold with those who favor fire† (Frost 441).Frost states that he has experienced desire at some point in his life, and he delighted in it. Frost could have experienced the love of God and could have known He is existent. Frost could also be using these lines to inform the reader of a passionate relationship. Although the reader does not know exactly what Frost is referring to, it is recognizable that he has a deep passion towards something. Frost writes in lines five through nine, â€Å"But if it had to perish twice, / I think I know enough of hate/ To say that for destruction ice/ Is also great/ and would suffice† (Frost 441).These five l ines give the impression of contradiction to the first four lines. Frost goes from talking about death by â€Å"fire† to death by â€Å"ice† (Frost 441). Frost says though that if he had a second chance he would choose ice. The reader can comprehend here that Frost is saying everything will come to an end eventually. If he is talking about how the world will end, he knows that human death is inevitable and everyone will die. Perhaps Frost is talking about a relationship; he knows that all good things must come to an end.He would rather the relationship to end in â€Å"fire,† or passion, but if it ends in cold, heartless â€Å"ice,† it is okay because it was going to end at some point (Frost 441). To simply say that this poem was about either of the aforementioned would not be fair. Poetry has its own way with each and every reader. However, there are two things that are certain no matter who the reader is; this poem is a didactic because it teaches a less on and lyric because it has rime and rhyme. The lesson of this poem is that everything must come to an end, whether it is good or bad.Frost never revealed the true reason of writing this poem, but he did write it to express his emotions. Maybe he was literally talking about how the world was going to end, or he could have been talking about a lost relationship. Because Frost never gave the true meaning, the reader is left to let the imagination wonder. Without a true meaning, the reader can form his own opinion from what speaks to him within the poem. There are many ways to reduce this risk but the two popular approaches used very commonly are called hedging and netting. Hedging is when u buy a forward contract in a date in the future this is done to cover the liabilities occurring in the future. Forward exchang e contracts are often used to cover the risk of foreign exchange fluctuations. Apart from hedging another popular technique very commonly used is called netting. Netting is used to maintain equal levels of foreign exchange as compared to equal levels of payables. This would help you to net out the effect and the difference between the two hence the result would be zero and the company would not incur any loss. Using this technique the buyer and the seller both can be at advantage, if the buyer nets at a good rate than he would be able to earn more and same goes for the seller he can also earn a lot. This technique helps both the buyer and the seller. There are many other ways of dealing with hedging which can be options, futures forwards. Further in this answer I will elaborate each one of them one by one. The only differences between each of them are the related requirements and the costs associated with each one of them. The cost of one can be very high as compared to anothe r one at a certain time period and vice versa. If a company is having foreign exchange risk than they would certainly want to compare a number of techniques and see whether which one of them is profitable and which one is not. Purpose of Foreign Exchange Risk Hedge In normal words speaking the purpose of any hedging technique is to help the investor protect against any such events in the future that will cause him/her to lose their investment. When it comes to currency then thee simple idea is to simply either convert or exchange the currency to cover the risk. While keeping in mind the exchange rate one would want to hedge and save themselves by changing into another currency that would provide them cover. Futures A future contract is a standardized, transferable, exchange traded contract that requires delivery of a commodity, bond, currency, or stock index at a specified price, on a specified future date. Generally the delivery does not occur instead before the contract expires the holder usually square their position by paying or receiving the difference between the current market price of an underlying asset and the price stipulated in the contract. Specifications of a future contract The future contract itself tells why it is being used to sell and purchase, it also defines the way in which the contract would take place. A future contract would define it as: It will tell a fixed amount of commodity or any other thing that is being traded. (e.g, 5,00 bags of rice, 100 Euros, dollars etc.) It would also define the quality of the commodity being traded (this might not be true for all sort of commodities thus needs to be adjusted accordingly; currencies if used in the transaction do not have various levels quality and thus stay plain as they are). The rules for price adjustments would also be defined be the future contract for commodities and price would be adjusted accordingly to quality which can be of a specified rating. Currency Swaps  [2] A currency swap is something in which two investors exchange a particular amount of currency for another one for a particular time period and this amount is used agreed between two parties. Once the agreement gets over both the parties give back the original sum that was exchanged between both of them. To take care of legislations for currencies all over the world the currency swap is an efficient and useful technique. A currency swap can have a maturity up to 30 years maximum. According to international accounting standards the currency swap would not be considered as a loan hence if it is not a loan than it would not ever appear on the liabilities or any other part of the balance sheet. When companies tend to do so in currency swaps they can easily cope up with their currency rate risk and exchange rate risk too. The extra benefit gained from doing currency swaps is that they can help reduce the   counterparty risk, whihch comes from bid and ask price. By default it can be said to combine with interest rate risks and currency swaps can help avoid them. The terms can also set up asking either a fix or a floating rate thus the flexibility of the terms can also help to focus. Disadvantages The benefits are good but the disadvantage is the cost that is involved in such transactions and along with them the settlement and the un settlement risks involved in it. The biggest risk involved in doing a currency swaps is that the other party might fill up their obligation and in this case the main party might end up losing money, yes legal actions can be taken but in some cases they remain in vain  [5]  . The other disadvantage is that one of the party might want to quit the transaction before time, the party that remains should have an approval of the other party and thus can decide upon which exit strategy needs to be taken, same is the case when it comes to futures and forwards that the exit strategy must be pre decided between both the parties. Following can be some ways of taking an exit: Entering into an offsetting swap Selling the swap to a  third party Purchasing a swaption. 3. Options An option is a contract but not an obligation and the holder of the option might or might not use it on the date of the option, the price of the use is already predetermined. An option can be either a put option or a call option. A put option will allow the holder to sell a particular security on the date of maturity for a desired price, while the call option will allow the holder to buy it. It is also defined in some places as a promise by the issuer to the holder to fulfill a particular price on a particular date, the risk is that the price can be higher or lower on the desired date. It also protects the offeere from the offer to revoke it . Still careful consideration is required as still it is a type of contract. Typically, an offeree can provide consideration for the option contract by paying money for the contract or by providing value in some other form such as by rendering other performance or  forbearance  [6]  . Forwards Forwards are rather similar contracts between two parties in which they decide on a particular asset to be sold on a price on a future date.  This is similar to a spot in contrast, sots asks to sell the asset on date today but forwards decide a date in the future. The costs for a forward contract is nothing. The party looking to buy the asset would be looking at a longer termed position, while the seller will see a shorter termed position. Money Market Hedge Money market hedges refers to things where techniques are used to lock in particular rates related to foreign exchange and cash equivalents.
